Flat Nicole returns to Winnipeg!

Flat Nicole is reunited with Real Nicole in Winnipeg!!

and Flat Nicole gets caught by the live lobsters!!

And there you have it.  The travels of Flat Nicole.  There is a U2 concert tonight in Winnipeg, Flat Nicole may be attending!!

Halifax...proper thing b'i!

This ferry is part of Halifax's transit system...can you imagine taking a boat to get around town!

Of course, no visit to Halifax would be complete without a visit to the Alexander Keith's brewery!

This was one of the lady's working at the brewery who was very happy to be photographed with Flat Nicole!

Flat Nicole came to the Library Conference reception.  These college Librarians were enjoyed a refreshment while posing with Flat Nicole!

It's hard to see, but Flat Nicole was doing some dancing to the East Coast band!

There's Flat Nicole on the waterfront boardwalk checking out another lighthouse.

This was Theodore the tug boat. He docks in the Harbour and takes tourists out to sea!

Flat Nicole gets flattened by a bell!!

And finally Flat Nicole found some Flat flowers on the Halifax waterfront to frolick in!

Peggy's Cove

Flat Nicole drove to Peggy's Cove which is about a 45 minute drive from Halifax.  It is a beautiful little fishing village.  Luckily for Flat Nicole and I, there were very few tourists there the day we went.

Peggy's Cove lighthouse which is the most photographed lighthouse in Canada.  This lighthouse was originally built in 1868; it has been rebuilt and renovated over the years, but is still used to alert fishermen there's a shore nearby.

Flat Nicole waving from the Peggy's Cove lighthouse!

Flat Nicole exploring the rocks that make up Peggy's Cove harbour.

Flat Nicole read this plaque and took caution.  It reads:  "Warning:  Injury and death have rewarded careless sight-seers here.  Ocean and rocks are treacherous savour the sea from a distance."

The Eastern most point of PEI.

Flat Nicole in East Point.   I'm at the top of the lighthouse in East Point; I climbed all the way to the top; it's 19.5 metres high.  what a beautiful view!  This lighthouse is located at the most Eastern point of Prince Edward Island.  Lighthouses were, and are still used, to guide boats away from dangerous reefs and into safe harbours.  There were many shipwrecks off the East Point because there were 3 tides to navigate.

outside view of East point including the attached gift shop.

The red shores.
Next lighthouse we visited was Point Prim.  This is the oldest lighthouse on PEI.  It was built in 1845.  It is the only round brick lighthouse in Canada!  of course, tours were closed!

This is Point Prim.  What a beauty!

Oh well, look, there's Flat Nicole!

A good photo of me with my Anne of Green Gables sticker on while I hang out on the shore of Point Prim.

Look at all the tires used for the ferry!

One last view of the Wood Islands lighthouse and the red shores of PEI as we leave on the ferry to make our way to Nova Scotia.

Flat Nicole in the car on the ferry.  She was a quiet passenger!

Not so fast Flat Nicole....

...you're sleeping on the chair!

Flat Nicole in PEI

Flat Nicole spent a few days in Prince Edward Island, also known as the Gentle Island.  She spent the May Long weekend touring about the island; unfortunately it's not tourist season yet, so most things were still closed and it was COLD!!!!
Confederation Bridge

Flat Nicole drove to PEI crossing the Confederation Bridge.  This bridge connects New Brunswick and PEI.  Confederation Bridge is 12.9 kilometres making it the longest bridge in the world that crosses over ice-covered water.  It took 4 years to build and opened in 1997.  It is said to be one of the best engineering feats in Canadian history.

Flat Nicole at Province House; this is where the 1847 conference was held that led to the Confederation of Canada.

This was the outside of Province House.

A mouse hunt that was taking place in Charlottetown.  There were these mouse sculptures hidden all over the city with clues provided on where to the mouse was hiding.

This was a lighthouse in a tiny fishing village called North Rustico Harbour.  Notice the red soil.

Check out this house...it's a camper with a house built around it.  Very different!!

Here's Flat Nicole trapped in the lobster traps.

Flat Nicole showing off the red coast. The soil and sand are red in PEI due to the high iron-oxide (rust) content in the soil.

These are the fishing boats docked in North Rustico Harbour.  The 3 main ways of life in PEI are tourism, fishing, and farming.

Flat Nicole and I hanging out in Cavendish National Park...It was very cold and I felt weird taking a photo of myself and Flat Nicole.
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES:  This historical site in Canada is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Canada.  It is based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's fictional tales about Anne Shirley, otherwise known as Anne of Green Gables.

Anne of Green Gables barn.

Catching a ride in Anne of Green Gables buggy...no horse though, so we didn't get too far.

And then I found Flat Nicole in a turnip peeler and slicer.

Flat Nicole and myself in Anne's living room!

This was Anne's kitchen...

Here's Flat Nicole poking around in Anne's bedroom....

And here she is again in Marilla's bedroom.  Very nosey this Flat Nicole!!

And then wouldn't you know it, I found her hanging out in Lover's Lane!

Always seeking adventure, Flat Nicole decided to brave the Haunted Woods trail where her companion saw a massive rat! Very Scary indeed!

There she is, quite literally, hanging out in the Haunted Woods.

One more picture of Anne's house.
Well,
